Digital Detox

Choosing what gets our attention

A connected life offers convenience and discovery. This record considers the habits that grow around it, and the space needed to choose deliberately.

The rhythm of a habit

Checking a feed is a small action. Repeated across a day, it can become a rhythm that is difficult to notice from within. Digital Detox approaches that familiar experience through songs about clickbait, filtered reality, bias and the appeal of the next thing waiting on a screen.

Its electronic and dance setting places those questions inside music built around movement and repetition. That relationship gives the record a useful tension: patterns can be pleasurable, and pleasure can make a pattern harder to examine. The interest lies in recognizing the moment when a chosen activity begins to feel automatic.

Making room for a different rhythm

The titles Beyond Binary and Common Ground broaden the conversation beyond individual habits. They suggest the possibility of meeting people with more patience than a quick reaction allows. A connection can begin online and still benefit from time, context and the chance to hear something that does not immediately confirm an expectation.

The album’s direction remains practical and open-ended. A more deliberate relationship with technology will look different for different people. Work, friendship, creativity and discovery may all depend on being connected. The question is how to make room for those benefits while keeping attention available for the life unfolding around them, including moments that never become a post.

What would a day look like if our attention followed our priorities?
